Ingredients:

  • 2 eggs
  • 150g sugar
  • 100g butter
  • 300g flour 00
  • 1/2 sachet of baking powder
  • 1 vanillin sachet
  • juice of 1 orange
  • zest of 2 oranges
  • Dark chocolate to taste
  • Sugar sprinkles to taste

Directions:

  1. First, pour the flour, sugar, vanilla, baking powder into a large bowl and mix with a fork.
  2. Then add the melted but cold butter, the eggs, the orange zest and juice. Start mixing with a fork and then continue to knead with your hands.
  3. The mixture will be soft and a little sticky. But, when it is well blended, form a ball and wrap with cling film. Refrigerate for 1 hour so that it hardens well, before going to make the biscuits.
  4. Then take the dough and roll it out with a rolling pin on a well floured surface. From time to time also flour the top surface of your dough, so that it does not stick to the rolling pin.
  5. When you have obtained a thickness of about 0.5cm, cut the cookies with the cookie cutters of your choice and then bake them in the oven at 180° C for about 15 minutes. The biscuits should be golden, but not too dark.
  6. Allow them to cool, possibly on a wire rack and in the meantime melt the dark chocolate in a bain-marie.
  7. Then dip half the biscuit in the chocolate and sprinkle with sprinkles of sugar. Then let them cool and harden well before tasting or packing your biscuits.
