Gingerbread Christmas biscuits

Gingerbread Christmas biscuits, spicy and delicious. This is my version of the classic English Gingerbread biscuits prepared in the winter season and typical of Christmas.

Gingerbread Christmas biscuits

Ingredients:

  • 350g flour
  • 130g sugar
  • 150g butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 100g honey
  • 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons of ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoons of ground cloves
  • 1/2 sachet of instant yeast

Directions:

  1. Start by sifting the flour, spices and baking powder into a bowl.
  2. Then add the sugar, the chopped butter, the honey, the egg and the salt.
  3. Knead until you get a homogeneous mixture.
  4. Before preparing the cookies, wrap in cling film and refrigerate for an hour.
  5. Roll out the dough until you get a thickness of about half a centimeter and then make the biscuits.
  6. Place the biscuits on a baking tray and bake in a convection oven at 180°C for about 10 minutes.
  7. Let them cool and then place in a tin box to preserve the fragrance of the biscuits.
