Savory mini-croissants with raw ham and soft cheese

Savory mini-croissants with raw ham and soft cheese. Savory croissants are an excellent idea to make a delicious aperitif or appetizer in just a few minutes. All you need is a roll of puff pastry, stracchino (or other soft cheese) and raw ham. Finally an egg to brush and if you want some poppy seeds to give an extra touch to your pretzels. In this case I made them with my air fryer. You can also bake them in the oven at the same temperature, but it will take 3 to 5 minutes of additional cooking time.

To cook them I used my VIVO Air Frier 5.5 liter air fryer, which allows good air circulation and very fast cooking. It is also very spacious inside, but at the same time quite small overall size and takes up much less space than my previous deep fryer of the same internal capacity. With the Vivo Air Frier these pretzels will be ready in just 13 minutes of cooking. You can also use other air fryers or the oven, but the cooking time could vary a bit.

Savory mini-croissants with raw ham and soft cheese

Ingredients:

  • 1 roll of round puff pastry
  • 100g raw ham
  • 150g soft cheese
  • 1 egg
  • Poppy seeds

Directions:

  1. To prepare your pretzels, start rolling out the puff pastry roll and spread the stracchino as homogeneously as possible. If you find a creamy stracchino, it will be easier to spread.
  2. Then cover with a layer of raw ham slices and then cut into wedges with a pizza wheel. First in 4, then in 8 and finally in 16. In this way it will be easier to cut them of equal size.
  3. At this point, roll up the slices obtained starting from the outer edge, to obtain your croissants.
  4. Then brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with poppy seeds.
  5. Place them in your air fryer, on top of a perforated sheet of parchment paper, so that there is some space between them.
  6. Start your Vivo Air Fryer with the pizza program (180 ° C for 13 minutes), it is not necessary to pre-heat.
  7. At the end of cooking, the fryer switches off by itself and your pretzels will be ready! You can enjoy it warm or cold.
